13 Songs You Didn’t Know Feid Wrote (2024)

From Christina Aguilera to Karol G to Nicky Jam, and beyond. See the list below.

On the week of his birthday (Aug. 19), Feid is celebrating a new career milestone: his fourth No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart, with the Sean Paul-assisted “Niña Bonita.”

The sensual, bilingual dancehall track is another representation of Feid’s musical style — one that’s edgy, visionary, infectious, and backed by his signature Medellin-based reggaetón sound.

But before Feid (also known by his alter ego Ferxxo) delivered certified bangers such as “Porfa,” “Normal,” “Feliz Cumpleaños Ferxxo,” and “Chorritos Pa Las Animas,” he was behind the scenes writing songs for other artists.

In his early 20s, the artist born Salomón Villada Hoyos “unintentionally” fell into songwriting, after Colombian artist Shako asked Feid if he could record one of the song’s he had written for himself. “I was still new in the industry and didn’t even know writing for other artists was a thing,” he previously told Billboard during his cover story interview.

One of the first notable tracks he helped write was J Balvin’s “Ginza,” but according to his longtime producer Sky Rompiendo, it was on Balvin’s “Sigo Extrañándote” where he really “proved himself as a songwriter.”

Feid not only won an ASCAP Latin award and signed an exclusive worldwide publishing administration deal with Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), but he became an in-demand songwriter, penning songs for acts such as Nicky Jam, Thalía, and Ximena Sariñana.

However, despite his distinct craft of making reggaetón music with pop lyrics, Feid felt he “needed to find myself as an artist” and is now focused on his music career as a recording artist. Notwithstanding, many of his songwriting hits have become timeless bops.

Additionally, Feid is confirmed for the 2023 Billboard Latin Music Week set to take place in Miami the week of Oct. 2-6. For registration and more information, visit www.billboardlatinmusicweek.com.

Below, check out 13 songs you didn’t know Feid wrote for other artists:

  • Alvaro Diaz, "Close Friends"

Although Alvaro Diaz reeled in Feid and Tainy for his track “Llori Papi,” Feid has writing credits on “Close Friend,” one of the catchier reggaetón songs on the set. Both tracks are part of Diaz’s 2021 album Felicilandia.

  • Anitta feat. Prince Royce, "Rosa"

Part of her Kisses album, Anitta reeled in Prince Royce for the ultra-sultry reggaetón single “Rosa,” which was co-written by Feid. In the track, the two artists flirt back and forth about what they will do to each other.

  • Christina Aguilera, "Brujería"

Belonging to her two-part album Aguilera, Feid not only helped co-write the sultry “Brujería” track alongside Aguilera, GALE, and others, but he also co-produced it, alongside Rafa Arcaute, Federico Vindver and Slow.

  • CNCO, "Mamita"

A feel-good pop song about the puppy love stage, CNCO’s “Mamita,” released in 2018, was originally meant to be recorded by Feid in collaboration with Nelly Furtdado. But once it fell through the cracks, he gave the song to the Latin boy band, becoming a fan favorite of theirs.

  • Esteman, "Noche Sensorial"

Just as he can tap into reggaetón, Feid can easily adapt to other genres. A great example is his songwriting on Esteman’s “Noche Sensorial”— an alt-pop dance track produced by Colombian duo ICON.

  • J Balvin, "Sigo Extrañándote"

“Sigo Extrañándote,” part of Balvin’s Energía album, became one of Feid’s first major works as a songwriter. The song, about missing a loved one, peaked at No. 9 on the Hot Latin Songs chart and No. 4 on Latin Airplay in 2017.

  • Karol G, "Gucci Los Paños"

One of the newer songs Feid wrote is “Gucci Los Paños,” part of Karol G’s Mañana Será Bonito album. Backed by heavy tuba melodies and slow-tempo requintos, Karol’s first-ever banda track was also co-written by Edgar Barrera, Andres David Restrepo Echavarría, Jorge Alvaro Diaz and Karol G herself.

  • Manuel Medrano, "Buena"

Produced by Mosty and Rafa Arcaute, “Buena” marks one of Medrano’s venture into the urbano realm. In the songwriting portion, Medrano was joined by Alejandro Patiño, Arcaute and Feid.

  • Nicky Jam feat. Darell, "Perdóname"

On Nicky Jam’s 2019 Intimo album, Feid co-wrote two tracks: “Perdóname” featuring Darell and “Come y Te Vas.” The former is about a man who’s trying to fix things after infidelity and the latter about a tricky situationship.

  • Piso 21, "Besándote"

One of Piso 21’s earlier hits, “Besándote” (2017) was penned by Feid himself alongside the four-member group. The feel-good love song is about two people who are single and desire each other.

  • Reykon, "Secretos"

“Secretos” (2014) became the very first success that got Feid on the map as a songwriter. The song was originally meant to be called “Puedo Ser” and be Feid’s debut single. Ultimately, “Secretos” earned Reykon his first-ever Billboard chart entry.

  • Thalia, "Corazón Valiente"

On her 2018 album Valiente, Thalia teamed up with many up-and-coming artist, producers and songwriters, including Ovy on the Drums, Lali and Ana Mena, for a fresh twist to her pop music. Feid has songwriting credits on two tracks: “Corazón Valiente” and “Vikingo.”

  • Ximena Sariñana, "¿Qué Tiene?”

One of Ximena Sariñana’s most rhythmic tracks, 2018’s “¿Qué Tiene?” was penned by Feid alongside Mosty, Jowan, Juan Pablo Vega, Rolo, Wain and Sariñana. The track is part of the Mexican artist’s ¿Dónde Bailarán Las Niñas? album.
