Of course, I had to check out this Gordon Ramsay cookbook. He talks so much sh*t that I had high expectations of his recipes.

To start, I think the 30-minute time frame is a bit ambitious. It does not include the required prep time for many of the recipes. Again, this is another cookbook calling for ingredients that are not readily available to the average human.

The highlight was the dessert section, which also provided many keto-friendly choices. The other significant point was the beautiful photographs of the featured recipes.

Solid three stars.

I enjoyed this cookbook, but I don’t think its for the average household. I enjoy trying new recipes and ingredients so this is right up my alley! However, a lot of the ingredients are not always found in the average household. They aren’t the usual staples. So if you are looking for new recipes that wont take you a long time to prep, this is for you! If you are just looking for fast recipes, this may not be for you. I am always looking for new recipes to try and fun ways to spice up our dinner rotations so I enjoyed it! I received this cookbook last week and made three recipes out of it over the weekend. I feel like I’ve been cooking non-stop for the last six months and was eager to have some new options. There are several more recipes that my family is planning on making. The five stars are because we all (3 generations, five of us) found recipes we want to eat, and the three recipes I made turned out great. Here’s what you need to know:

-There is a wide variety of recipes and beautiful photos with each recipe. I need the photos for inspiration!

-Note the title is Quick and Delicious- not Quick and Easy! I would consider myself at least an intermediate cook and the recipes are a good fit for me. None of the three I made were done in less than 30 minutes.

🍋There are lots of ingredients, some of which I haven’t heard of (I’m looking at you, preserved lemon!). I just googled substitutions and it was fine. I may seek out some of the specialty items just because I’m a curious foodie.

🕥 The recipes are written to serve 2 or 4. If you’re doubling a recipe, anticipate it will take longer.

🍳I also didn’t have all the right cooking �� pans. I figured it out, but that impacted time too.

We made the Pork Schnitzel which was a hit with everyone (2 teens, parents, and a grandparent). The Lentil Butternut Squash soup was also a hit with 4 of the 5 of us. It wasn’t as pretty as the picture b/c I subbed green lentils for red and jalapeños for red 🌶’s, but it tasted delicious. Finally, we made the 🍋 chicken- I subbed lemon zest for preserved lemon and ground thyme for sprigs of thyme. I also didn’t have a pan that could go from stovetop into the oven, so switched pans midway (we were at my moms cottage and the kitchen isn’t as fully stocked as my own). Even with all those changes, it was still tasty- one boy didn’t like it, the other couldn’t taste the lemon. The grown ups thought it was good. Next up is the Thai Chile and Basil Chicken.

I sadly found the photography to be less polished (and artistic) than I have grown accustomed to, but the recipes themselves more than make up for that (and at least the recipes each get a picture so you still get a good sense of the dish)!

I’m a huge fan of Gordon Ramsay. His food has always been delicious when I’ve gotten the opportunity to visit his restaurants and I love watching his cooking at home episodes on YouTube. This book is a great combination of restaurant style with at home instruction. I do think that some of these recipes are a little lofty for a “quick weeknight meal”, but I don’t care. The gorgeous pictures, large print and detailed instructions leave me wanting to give it a try!

Beautifully photographed food and quick to prepare recipes that I will soon be trying for myself. Gordon Ramsey has prepared a cookbook full of recipes that will take 30 minutes or less to make. They are full of ingredients that put them just a knotch above your average home cooked meal so that you can cook a restaurant level dish with relative ease. Can’t wait to tryout my first meal!!

I picked out about 30 recipes to try, so I'm still working my way through those. I've learned a lot about spices from the book and he has me eating (healthy) things I probably never would have otherwise (chickpeas, zucchini, cucumbers, asparagus), as well as cooking things I never thought I would be brave enough to try (tuna steaks, salmon). My only complaint is that some of the ingredients are NOT easy to find in small town midwest. I search the internet for where to get them, order them, or what to substitute. It would be nice if he offered substitutes in the book or considered ingredients more common than rose harissa, celery root, or squid.

This is a well put-together cookbook and there are some interesting looking recipes here. I haven't tried any from the book yet but a couple caught my eye. A lot of the recipes seem to have ingredients that I just don't normally have on hand or can be quite expensive. Once you get into multiple types of cheese and things like porcini paste the costs just add up. The Butternut Squash and Chickpea Curry and the Porcini Mushrooms with Cheesy Polenta caught my eye and I think I will try one or both of these recipes.

Not ideal for households on a budget looking for fuss-free recipes and probably not useful for the average cook who is unwilling or unable to forage for the "subtle wild leek leaves that can be [found] in woodlands in early spring" but you know Big Daddy G is bound to have at least a few winning and accessible recipes here and there (see: Meat-Free Mains and Dips and Sides for said winners).

Sophisticated dishes you can make quickly. But the ingredients can be a little hard to find, you may need to substitute. A big portion of the recipes were Asian inspired.

I loved watching Gordon Ramsay on TV during the first four or five seasons of Hell's Kitchen! My husband and I always thought it would be so cool to be dining in one of his restaurants (never happen) and have it happen to be on a night when they're filming a competition. But I've never gotten my hands on any of his cookbooks and really looked at his recipes. I always figured they'd be too fancy and complicated.
When this cookbook came out recently, I thought "Quick and Delicious" would mean things I would be capable of making and that would be appealing to my less-than-sophisticated palate. I figured if they were things I could cook in 30 minutes or less, they wouldn't be that difficult.
I was wrong on both counts! The recipes in this cookbook, from beginning to end, are just like the ones in the fancier cookbooks of Ramsay's: super intense, complicated recipes for foods I'd never get anywhere near! They might only take 1/2 an hour to cook, but they're still complex, to me, and the end results look so very unappealing. I don't know what led me to believe that even a cheeseburger made by Gordon Ramsay would be good--it looks too froo-froo for me, no way I'd touch that! The pictures were pretty, but that's about all I can say in favor of this one.

Received my copy through the Goodreads Giveaways.

I can't comment on how good the recipes themselves are as I've not made them yet, but I trust they are delicious (they certainly look that way) since Gordon Ramsay's name is attached. What I can comment on is the ingredient list. I would say that, for the most part, all of the ingredients can be found in a fairly large grocery store, specifically one that has a decent international food aisle. Where I would likely not adhere to the recipes is where it calls for a certain type of vegetable (e.g. chioggia beet, lacinito kale, etc). More likely I would use what was locally grown and fresh, versus traipsing all over the nearest city's grocery stores in search of them.

I've given it a 4 based on my own personal cooking skill and how unintimidated I am to try any of these recipes, as well as the relative ease of finding ingredients.

I have watched Gordon Ramsay on TV recently with his travels and variety of food cooking. It was interesting to see the variety and how quickly he had to cook something. When I saw this cookbook, I knew I just had to have it. Inside, there were plenty of recipes for quick and delicious meals. I was surprised to find a lot of them were ones I am interested in making and foods that I actually love to eat. This, is a plus! I found the tips and wisdom from this world famous chief a bonus as well. The recipes were easy to follow. Clear instructions for everything to make as well as a little background on each dish. I also loved the graphics that followed for each dish. Overall, I am very well pleased with this cookbook.

The Gordon Ramsay Quick and Delicious: 100 Recipes to Cook in 30 Minutes or Less has manageable prep times and keeps everything within the advertised timeframe. I love that the shopping lists for the ingredients are easy to find, and many are staples in most kitchens.

Gordon Ramsay Quick and Delicious: 100 Recipes to Cook in 30 Minutes or Less is a good cookbook for those challenged in the kitchen as the directions are easy to follow. Busy people will enjoy the quick prep and cooking times. Those who consider themselves master chefs will find the recipes easy, maybe too easy, but everyone has a busy day, so I think this is a cookbook for people at all cooking levels.

A good range of recipes from different cultures, but the 30 minutes or less subtitle is misleading. Having done a handful or so recipes from here it seems like we're averaging 45 minutes per recipe. My wife has done the Kale Caesar Salad with Garlic Croutons a few times now. It is fantastic and I'm happy to see it on our shared calendar for meals, but I think it takes at least 50 minutes to do well. Some things I think we're going to try are making the croutons in bigger patches, and cooking up bacon ahead of time. Then yes I think we can get it under 30 minutes.

I felt this was a really good cookbook. The recipes are easy and tasted good. I made 5 of the recipes over the few weeks I had the book from the library and wrote down some more to try. My only complaint is that a few of the ingredients were hard to find where I live in a pandemic, but I was able to make substitutions. I also wish there was a bit more personality or stories in the text around the dishes.

Really great everyday cookbook. Photos for each recipe, helpful tips and some ideas for changing things up too. The best chapter for me was meat and fish. This isn’t five stars because there’s no nutritional info and some of the ingredients might be tough to find.

A solid investment in your weeknight cooking arsenal.

Despite the measurements being translated into North American in the edition I read, I think they really aren't intended for a North American audience, as they call for a lot of ingredients that aren't easy to get or that are quite expensive here. I only flagged one recipe for possible use out of the whole book.

I've worked my way through a number of Ramsay recipes with various degrees of success, but I have never been crazy impressed. Most of his recipes include ingredients that are difficult to come by if you do not live in a large city and are very intense. I enjoyed a number of recipes in this book, but none of them are 30 minute recipes. And believe me, I tried.

I love Gordon Ramsay shows. His voice comes through in the writing of this cookbook - it is authentically him.

I didn't care for the recipes - a little too sophisticated for my tastes and desire for hearty meals this winter. (Sorry, Gordon, I still love you, and will look at more of your cookbooks next summer!)

This book has a varied selection of creative and delicious recipes, they inspired me a lot! I'm very impatient, especially when it comes to cooking, so these dishes are great for me. The prep time doesn't count here though, so that's kinda cheating. Each recipe has a picture, which I really appreciate in a cookbook. Oh and measurement conversions in the back!

This is definitely a cookbook for more unique dishes (for me). It’s nice that they’re all super quick but still “challenging” enough for them to merit a cookbook! I certainly need to buy some new ingredients to make a lot of them haha. But really glad I have this!

If by quick you mean will take you hours to locate ingredients for, then yes. These honestly look delicious and not complicated to make. The ingredient list is prohibitive for most people who don't live in a big city and even many that do.

The cookbook is alright but I can't support anyone who has made their name by being so mean and rude. (The cookbook isn't mean or rude, it's just a book with a lot of recipes that require ingredients that I am too poor to buy).
